Overview of Water Control Manuals

This blog features modeling concepts of reservoir systems using HEC-ResSim.  The rules of operation that apply to a reservoir system are typically found in the water control manual for that system.

The Corps of Engineers publishes documents regarding the operation of reservoir systems along with documents detailing the development of water control manuals.  Some of these documents include:

EM-1110-2-3600 (EM stands for Engineering Manual):

This document is titled, "Management of Water Control Systems".  The latest release of this document is 10 October 2017.  The purpose of this manual is copied below.

ER 1110-2-240 (ER stands for Engineering Regulation)

This document is titled, "Water Control Management".  The latest release of this document is 30 May 2016.  The purpose of this document is copied below.

ER 1110-2-8156 (ER stands for Engineering Regulation)

This document is titled, "Preparation of Water Control Manuals".  This is an older document with the latest release of this document being 31 August 1995.  The purpose of this document is copied below.

In follow up posts, I include the relevant information in each chapter of a water control manual.
