Chapter 8 of Water Control Manuals

In this post, I provide an overview of the contents of Chapter 8 in water control manuals.

Chapter 8 discusses the effect of the water control plan.

Pertinent information in this chapter includes:
  • The effect of operation on synthetic and historic events
  • Project impacts on recreation, water quality, fish and wildlife, water supply, hydropower, and navigation
  • Peak inflow probability
  • Pool elevation duration and frequency
Various figures are included in the development of Chapter 8 of the water control manuals including operational hydrographs for synthetic and historic events, a portion of which is shown below.


Additionally, period of record pool elevation hydrographs are also provided.  A portion of such a hydrograph is shown below.
