In this post, I provide an overview of the contents of Chapter 9 in water control manuals.

Chapter 9 discusses the overall management of the water control function.

Pertinent information in this chapter includes:
  • Responsibilities of the Water Management Section during normal operations and flood emergencies
  • Coordination among federal, state, and local agencies
  • Detailing of interagency agreements
  • Listing of reports produced on a daily, monthly, and annual basis
  • Listing of reports produced during and after a flood
A summary of the necessary reports along with the frequency of these reports is included in this chapter.  A portion of such a table is shown below.
