In this post, I provide an overview of the contents of Chapter 5 in water control manuals.

Chapter 5 provides information on the data collection and communications network.

Pertinent information in this chapter includes:

• Facilities, reporting, and maintenance of hydrometeorological stations
• Facilities, reporting, and maintenance of water quality stations
• Facilities, reporting, and maintenance of sediment stations
• Communication network used to transmit data
• Project reporting instructions

Various figures are included in the development of Chapter 5 of the water control manual including stream gage and rainfall stations.  A portion of such a figure is shown below.
