Two of the maps are shown below.  There are several zones shown on these maps.
  • Zone A - base floodplain mapped by approximate methods
  • Zone AE - base floodplain where base flood elevations are provided
  • Shaded Zone X - usually the area between the limits of the 100-year and the 500-year floods
  • Unshaded Zone X - area outside the 500-year flood

The map below shows an area of Swamp Creek further downstream than the map above.  This shows the confluence of Swamp Creek with the Sammamish River.  The Sammamish River flows to the left (west) on this map and eventually empties into Lake Washington.
