This post shows the rise at the Piney Point gage on Buffalo Bayou from Hurricane Harvey in 2017 along with the rises that occurred in 2009, 2015, and 2016.
This data was derived from the USGS website for gage 08073700.
The peak stages at this gage for the 2009, 2015, 2016, and 2017 events are as follows:
2009: 57.3 feet on 4/28/2009
2015: 58.3 feet on 5/26/2015
2016: 57.8 feet on 4/18/2016
2017: 63.9 feet on 8/27/2017
The plot below shows the stages for these four events for 7 days before and 7 days after the peak stage. Each of these events shows the rapid rise that can occur at this site.
